Macromedia Flash Player Uninstaller (recommended uninstall method)

Windows uninstall_flash_player.exe (115K)
Save the file to your system, choosing a location where you can find it (for example, your Desktop).
2 Close your browser completely.
3 Run the uninstaller. This will uninstall Macromedia Flash Player from all browsers on the system.

Macromedia Flash Player manual uninstall
The Macromedia Flash Player is implemented as an ActiveX control for some browsers, and as a plug-in for other browsers. Each has a different manual uninstallation procedure.
> To manually uninstall the ActiveX control (Windows: Internet Explorer and AOL) Follow the steps in How to remove the Macromedia Flash Player ActiveX Control (TechNote 12727).
> To manually uninstall the Macromedia Flash Player plug-in on Windows, Linux, or Solaris:
1 Quit the browser.
(Netscape, CompuServe, or Opera)
2  Navigate to the plug-ins folder in your browser's directory.
3

Locate the Plug-ins folder inside the browser application folder.

For example, C:\Program Files\Netscape\plug-ins\ (Windows), or /usr/bin/Netscape/plug-ins/ (Linux or Solaris).

The exact location of plug-ins folder may vary depending on platform/browser.
4 Locate the Macromedia Flash Player plug-in:
> On Windows, the plug-in is named NPSWF32.dll.
> On Linux and Solaris the Macromedia Flash Player consists of two files: libflashplayer.so and ShockwaveFlash.class.
5 Delete the plug-in file.

Note: If you are removing the plug-in from Netscape 6.2 or higher, also remove the file flashplayer.xpt and xpti.dat from the Components folder.

6 Restart the browser.
